ODOT installs first-in-state swiveling traffic signal in Pendleton
PENDLETON, Ore. – Crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation have installed a special moving traffic signal in Pendleton – the first of its kind in the state!Earlier this week, ODOT cooperated with the City of Pendleton to install a swiveling traffic signal on the southwest Hailey Avenue and southwest Tutuilla Creek Road intersection with Highway 395 in the city. ODOT said electricians can quickly move the spinning signal with a permit.Video posted by ODOT on social media shows workers using an armature to spin the entire pole, including traffic signal and street light, to allow a semi truck carrying an oversized load to pass.
